CPC30220 Certificate III in Carpentry

This qualification covers the skills and knowledge required for a trade qualification in carpentry, covering work performed in residential and commercial applications.

Course information

This qualification has been specifically developed to meet the needs of the construction industry.

The construction industry strongly affirms that training and assessment leading to recognition of skills must be undertaken in a real or very closely simulated workplace environment and this qualification requires all units of competency to be delivered in this context.

While undertaking this qualification, the apprentice will gain the skills and knowledge to interpret building plans and specifications and the apply WHS requirements, policies and procedures in the construction industry.

The apprentice will work with a range of tools and equipment to set out, manufacture, construct, assemble, install and repair products made using timber and non-timber materials.

Successful completion of the course will result in the issuance of a Certificate of Qualification and a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for CPC30220 - Certificate III in Carpentry.

State and territory jurisdictions may have different licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements. Relevant state and territory regulatory authorities should be consulted to confirm those requirements.

No pre-requisites.
Completion of the general construction induction training program, specified in the Safe Work Australia model Code of Practice: Construction Work, is required by anyone carrying out construction work. Achievement of CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry meets this requirement.

Participants must be employed and registered under a training contract as an apprentice and must obtain the General Induction White Card before commencing work on a construction site in Australia.

Tec-NQ conducts a learning, literacy and numeracy assessment as part of its enrolment process.

Eligible apprentices who meet the Queensland state funding requirements will be charged a set fee of $1.60*/nominal hour. Certified training is GST free.

Nominal hours for each unit of competency are provided in the training plan.

Fees are set by the Queensland Government department that is responsible for training. Fees are subject to change over the course of an apprenticeship.

Some students may be eligible for concessions. Fee free training is available for apprentices under the age of 25, who commence or are undertaking a priority apprentice or traineeship qualification from 1 January 2021 to 31 December 2024.
