Course information
This upskilling course will equip the participant with the skills and knowledge to service and repair air conditioning systems in cars and heavy vehicles. It is designed for those with an automotive trade qualification or who are currently completing one through an apprenticeship.
This course involves fitting, installing, servicing and repairing of air-conditioning units on various types of vehicles.
While undertaking this qualification, participants gain skills and knowledge in:
- Workplace safety
- Tools and equipment
- Air-conditioning servicing
- Air-conditioning diagnosis and repair
- Air-conditioning retrofit and modifications

Participants who successfully complete this course will receive a statement of attainment for the following units of competency.

Tec-NQ will issue a Certificate II in Automotive Air Conditioning Technology upon successful completion of these units in combination with evidence of credit transfers for the prerequisite units from a relevant automotive trade qualification.
This qualification will enable participants to apply at Arctick.org for a AAC02 Refrigerant Handling License. This licence will allow you to work on air conditioning and refrigeration equipment fitted to the cabin of a motor vehicle and handle refrigerant.
A statement of attainment for the following units of competency is required four weeks prior to course commencement.

A statement of attainment for course prerequisites is required four weeks prior to course commencement to be accepted into this course.
Tec-NQ will provide proof of enrolment to the participant when they have been accepted into the course. This proof of enrolment is required to apply for a trainee handling licence from Arctick. Participants can apply for this licence at the link below. The trainee handling licence is required to commence training.

Training of AURETU102, AURETU103 & AURETU104 is delivered via face-to-face over 5 days including theory and practical assessment. Remaining units will be assessed through RPL and or Credit Transfer.
