At Tec-NQ, we do things differently. Whilst we are a senior school and place a high value on academic studies, we relate these subjects to our vocational pathways and combine them with hands-on practical learning delivered by experienced trade-qualified facilitators. This allows students who are interested in a career in a trade to gain nationally recognised pre-apprenticeship qualifications and senior school outcomes.

Our senior school students in year 10 have the opportunity to ‘try all trades’ so they can identify where their career aspirations lie. Years 11 and 12 offer career specific pathways, delivering academic and vocational outcomes supported by work placement in industry. Work placement is key to the successful transition many of our students make into careers in industry. Students spend up to 13 weeks in work placement in year 11 and up to 23 weeks in year 12. This is the key to our success in transitioning students from school to work.
