Training is delivered through a blend of college based (if needed), workplace training & assessment and e-Learning training. Visits to the workplaceand college are negotiated with the employerand apprentice at the time of sign-up.
What will it cost me/my apprentice to undertake the training?
Training and assessment costs are covered by the Queensland Government as a result of User choice funding received by the Tec-NQ. The Queensland Government requires the Tec-NQ to charge tuition fees for training conducted under User Choice funding.
How often will training occur?
Training will occur as often as needed. If your apprentice progresses quickly through their learning the Tec-NQ will continue training through the qualification. Block training will occur three times a year, however if your apprentice already has the skills thatare scheduled fordelivery at block training they would not need to attend.
How will I know my apprentice is progressing?
The Tec-NQ gives employers access to a ‘Portal’ that shows your apprentices progress. By accessing the Tec-NQ’s Portal you are able to view your apprentice’s progress barometer to show progression against their training plan as well as detailed information on theirattendance to block training, submission of assessments and other general information.
How do the apprentices learn their theory?
Apprentices are able to progress at their own pace and undertake theory at college, in the workplace or in their own time by logging into the Tec-NQ’s e-learning platform. The e-learning platform allows your apprentice to learn important theory, research industry trendsand submit assessments electronicallyand receive feedback from their trainer electronically.
What if my apprentice/s is halfway through a year? Can they transfer to Tec-NQ?
Yes. For the transfer tobe effective you will need to complete a ‘Change of Supervising Training Organisation’ form and send it to the Queensland Government. We can assist you with this. Once completed you will also need to contact your apprentice’s previous provider and request their results for us to complete our enrolment processes.
