As they study the increasingly demanding texts that English requires, students write, speak or signs, view, listen and think critically. English CommunicationThis course is designed to allow students to develop and use communication skills in the areas of work, community and leisure. Certificate II in BusinessThis course is designed to prepare students with the skills and knowledge required to become future business owners and industry leaders, therefore creating a “thinking and innovative apprentice”. Certificate II in Information TechnologyThis course is designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge required to become competent in the use of technology including word processing, web skills and general knowledge. Certificate II in Workplace PracticesThis course is designed to equip students with the necessary knowledge and skills to become ready for the workplace. It covers topics such as writing a resume, interview techniques and acceptable workplace behaviour. Mathematics AThis course develops the skills needed to make decisions which affect students' everyday lives. These skills are also called on in other subjects and provide a good general background for many areas of trade and tertiary study. This development is encouraged by an approach involving problem solving and applications, working systematically and logically, and communicating with and about mathematics. Mathematics BThis course is designed to raise students' competence in and confidence with the mathematics needed to make informed decisions to ensure scientific literacy and to function effectively in a technologically skilled work force. Pre-vocational MathematicsThis course encourages students to work both independently and cooperatively to carry out tasks related to their trade area. Students develop and apply their knowledge and skills, and communicate how they carried out tasks to suit the contexts in which they were operating.
