Tec-NQ is an independent College accredited in Queensland as a non-state senior secondary school and a Registered Training Organisation (RTO). By studying at the college, students have the opportunity to be signed into a school-based apprenticeship and study an approved academic program at the same time – allowing them to start their trade and get your Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE).

Our vision is to become "A leader in flexible and innovative learning, committed to partnering with industry and community, to empower students to launch highly successful technical careers."

We seek to prepare students for a successful career in the skills sector, offering school-based apprenticeships in the Construction, Automotive, Engineering and Electrotechnology industries.

All academic programs studied at Tec-NQ are provided in a context appropriate to trades, giving students a complete hands-on learning experience. The combination of the core units of study and their school-based apprenticeship, qualifies them for a QCE. As a school-based apprentice, they have the opportunity to work on the job for up to 23 weeks.

In 2009, the College expanded its operations beyond School-based Apprenticeships to include full-time apprenticeship training. Our flexible blend of on-the-job and block training allows employers to have their apprentices out on the job when they need them.

We also offer tailor-made pre-employment programs, designed for organisations according to their needs. The programs can be developed to cover skills such as workplace practices, communication, Workplace Health & Safety, literacy and numeracy, resume` writing, interview technique and tool use.

The Tec-NQ difference is its close association with local industry. The College model is designed around industry demand, ensuring that we’re delivering exactly what industry needs.
